SubTrackt

I collaborate and deliver the best experience possible. My passion for design lies in beneficence, fulfilling needs, and accommodating lifestyles.

Just one click, SubTrackt can track all your subscriptions and cancel them anytime!
What made this project stand out from other competitors is to have an account without linking with the user's bank information. Here you can gain more users and their trust to have a successful finance app.
I have learned more about fintech and how to gain the user's trust with finance. Balancing between achieving the user's needs, convenience, and having sufficient information.

Softwares Used: Adobe XD, Figma, Adobe Illustrator
Problem 1: Booming subscriptions
Now that subscriptions are increasing. People tend to have a hard time remembering what they subscribed to and how much they're spending monthly.
Problem 2: Auto payments
Usually, auto payments would not tell the user how much they've paid for the month until its renewal.
Problem 3: Price increase
Sometimes, the subscription company would only notify the users about its price going up when they log in.
My hypothesis
Based on the issues, my task is to create an app that could quickly help users manage their subscriptions. Check their total monthly spendings, price changes, and unsubscribe to a platform in just two taps away.
Proposed solution 1: Distrust and suspicion
The interviews show that most users are not comfortable sharing their bank accounts with third-party apps and websites, even though it is secure.

In order to create an account, connecting with bank information is required. (TrueBIll)
Proposed solution 2: The power of email address - Pt. 1
My proposed solution is to have subscription access based on the email address linked to those subscriptions. That way, the user is not required to connect their bank accounts.
Final solution 1: To link or not to link
When signing up, it asks the user whether they want to link their bank account or not. If not, that's perfectly fine.

Either way, at the end of creating an account, SubTrackt can still find your subscriptions whether it’s based on your bank account or email address.
Final solution 2: The power of email address - Pt. 2
The user also has the option to add multiple email addresses in their accounts, so the subscriptions based on that email address will show on the app. (The user's login email will still be the same address they signed up for)
The challenge: Lack of information
The most challenging part of this project has an account without linking with the user's bank accounts.

It's harder for users to track it accurately if they refuse to connect their bank accounts, and subscription companies would not release their user database information.

If you created an account without linking with your bank information, your dock would be blank. (Mint)
Solution from the challenge
My solution is to have the app detect subscription platforms from the user's emails, from receiving its login history, renewal receipt, price update, and occasional newsletters. Later on, the user can filter out any subscriptions that they don't want to track.

If the user wants to remove the subscription, the app can navigate them straight to the website's account page (with login and signup into their website).

The early process
• Competitor Research
• User Interviews
• Affinity Map
• User Flow

Wireframe
According to the user interview and the user flow, it's best to have a design in which the user feels familiar with other financial apps and subscription-based platforms' native apps.
Low Fidelity
In this UI process, the colors and the format I designed are purposefully formal, and it resembles the overall tone of finance.
High Fidelity
However, in this new rendition, I want to make the user feel comfortable, fun, and immersed into a financial app. With a few small tweaks, it made the whole experience much more intuitive.
Prototype
The overall interaction design is easy and intuitive so that it helps the user avoid the fear of tedium and distrust.
You can interact with the prototype by clicking the buttons on the screen.
